Don't Declare Victory For Android Just Yet →
My exact sentiment on why Android’s strategy could end up like Microsoft’s Windows Mobile over long run:- If phone makers let Android dominate the smartphone market, they could end up in a very similar position to the PC makers in the early 2000s—a race to the bottom on price, with ever shrinking margins.

Q: What Does Quora Mean For The Future Of... →
@parislemon on the evolution of blogging:- Quora is simply a new medium for what’s been going on since the beginning of blogging. And, to an extent, you could argue since the beginning of writing in general. That is, there needs to be a nugget of information that sparks a story. For the past 10+ years, many people have relied on other blog posts for this. For the past three years or so, many...

Are you an Apple fanboy yet? →
Mike Elgan realized that most of us indirectly became an Apple fanboy without realizing it:- So this is how it happens. You don’t become an Apple fanboy in some great religious epiphany. There are no angels singing, light beaming down from the clouds or even a conscious decision to embrace Apple. You just wake up one day and realize that almost every gadget you own and love begins with a...

Is Quora the biggest blogging innovation in 10... →
Robert Scoble nails it perfectly here:- First, it learned from Twitter. Ask your users a question and they’ll answer it. Second, they learned from Facebook. Build a news feed that brings new items to you. Third, they learned from the best social networks. You follow people you like. But then they twisted it. You can follow topics. Or you can follow questions in addition to following people....

Android Openness vs iOS Walled Garden
“Open vs. Close systems” are the arguments being thrown around on a daily basis. I have one word for it: General Users DO NOT really care. Open systems allow developers and hackers alike to dig into the internal working of the OS and to modify it to their heart contents, while a closed system like iOS are strictly control by one party to ensure the optimum quality of a system (hardware...

2011: The year Android explodes
Android reminds me of the Windows Mobile domination throughout the ’90s. Multiple carriers, lots of different phone manufacturers, one OS with so many different flavors. End result is End Users get screwed by low quality devices, manufacturers get screwed by forcing themselves to drive the profit margin down and developers get screwed by having to handle their apps to different flavor of the...
